— Turning a joke about nonexistence into a public declaration of pride.

Molise is a small region in southern Italy that is so little known that Italians joke it does not exist. For LGBTQI+ people in the region, that joke echoes a more serious lack of visibility and representation. Molise Pride needed to return after the pandemic with a clear statement: we are here, we belong here and we are not going back.

I built the identity around one rallying cry: Esistiamo, which means We exist. It works as a manifesto, a headline and a shared voice for the community. Rather than borrowing generic Pride imagery, the system reclaims symbols from Molise and turns them into an expression of collective presence.

The central symbol transforms the eight point star and diagonal geometry of the Molise coat of arms into a rainbow starburst. It can read as an impact, a spark or a new beginning. Combined with high contrast colour and direct typography, it creates a language that says one thing immediately: Molise exists, and so do we.

The starburst works as a symbol, frame, pattern and modular layout device. It carries photography, slogans and practical information across posters, social content, editorial materials and event communication, balancing civic clarity with celebratory energy.

The identity gives Molise Pride a recognisable centre and a system capable of growing beyond a single edition. It turns territorial invisibility into collective visibility and makes belonging impossible to overlook.
